The 2025 ECRAF Congress was hosted by the Austrian Armed Forces in Salzburg from 8–12 September, bringing together 36 delegates from 15 member nations.
This year’s main themes focused on the use of simulation technology in road safety and Austria’s “Vision Zero” approach.
Delegates discussed how simulation enhances driver education, operational training, and accident prevention within the armed forces.
Palfinger, Tenstar, and Rheinmetall contributed with engaging presentations and demonstrations, allowing participants to experience different simulation platforms and explore their potential for improving military driver training.
Presentations from the Austrian Armed Forces, KFV, and the Federal Ministry for Mobility and Infrastructure offered valuable insights into national and European road safety strategies.
The congress concluded with agreement on strengthening driver education, data-driven safety management, and international cooperation across defence organisations.
Our sincere appreciation goes to the Austrian Armed Forces for their outstanding hospitality and for making the congress in Salzburg a great success.
