The Executive Committee (EC) is responsible for running the organisation between the annual congresses, and meets as often as necessary. The EC leads and coordinates the Standing Working Groups.
ERNES HELEG, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA, ACTING PRESIDENT
Lieutnant Colonel Ernes Heleg was born in 1969 and joined the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992. He graduated from University of Sarajevo (Faculty of Transport and Communications - Road Traffic and Transportation). He studied for his Masters degree in Logistics and Transportation Management, graduating in 2010. Since 2014 he has served as Head of Movement Control Center of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This post has overall responsibilities for Road Safety. He has been a member of ECRAF since 2010 and voted EC member at Congress 2010 and elected Vice-President at Congress 2012 for the period 2012-14. Due to sickness for elected President, Heleg was Acting President most of 2013. He was at the Congress in 2013 elected as Acting President until the next Congress in 2014. At the Congress 2014 he was re-elected as ECRAF Vice-President for mandate 2014-2016. At the Congress 2015 he was appointed as Acting president for one year mandate.
ARTO PURKUNEN, FINLAND, EC MEMBER
Major Arto Purkunen was born 1966 in Iisalmi, Finland. He joined the Finnish Defence Forces in 1986 and graduated in 1990 as a signal officer and 1998 as a staff officer (logistics) from Finnish National Defence University. In 2009 he graduated the Course for Chiefs´ of Branches (logistics) from Finnish National Defence University.Since 1998 he has served among logistics, driver training, transport, and traffic on different positions in the Finnish Defence Forces.Purkunen has since March 2012 served in the Defence Command, as the Liaison Officer of Traffic and Transport. This post has many responsibilities for Road Safety. He has been a delegate of ECRAF since 2012 and elected EC member at the Congress 2012 for mandate 2012 - 2014. At the Congress 2014 he was elected as ECRAF President for mandate 2014-2015. At the Congress 2015 he was elected as EC member for mandate 2015-2017.
